From Amazon: "Following the alphabet this book uses poetry and expository text to explore the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, which is located along the northwest coast of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Named for its famed dunes, this national part was designated the "Most Beautiful Place in America" in 2011 on ABC's Good Morning America show. Topics include the park's many natural features such as its dune formations, beaches, and forests, as well as its numerous cultural attractions, including an 1871 lighthouse."
My thoughts: This book might not appeal to people who are not from Michigan, but since my husband and I took an anniversary trip to Sleeping Bear this summer it was fun to show our kids some of the places we visited. I really like these alphabet series of books put out by Sleeping Bear Press -- each page has short rhyming sentences for when I want to only read a little, then has a few other sentences if I want more information on the things being featured. There are books on everything from states and national parks to sports and hobbies.
