NEW Kids Picture Books: Day 25

Pete the Cat's Got Class by James Dean.
June 2016. 24 pages.

From Amazon: "When Pete's friend Tom has a tough time with math, our favorite blue cat steps in to help him out. With good friends, fun learning tools, and some extra help, it all adds up. Pete the Cat knows 'you can't hate math you just don't love it yet!'"

My thoughts: I had no idea from the title or the cover that this book would be about math. It's obviously about school, so I think that was a great move by the author and publisher -- if it's obvious that the book is about math, what kid will pick it up??

Since this was a library book, it didn't have the extras that a store-bought book would contain (stickers, flash cards, poster). This is a great book to read to kids before they even get to the point of complaining that math is boring. :)

Recommended Age: 3-8 years
